The company behind New Hong Kong City, the Chinese restaurant at 43 New Cross Road, went into creditors' voluntary liquidation on 22 October, the Gazette records.
The company that runs New Hong Kong City, the Chinese restaurant at 43 New Cross Road, is in liquidation.
New Hong Kong City Ltd went into creditors’ voluntary liquidation on 22 October. Its members voted to wind it up that day, and two liquidators were appointed. Both steps were recorded in The London Gazette, the official public record, on 28 October (resolution to wind up, notice 5239435; appointment of liquidators, notice 5239429).
What the record says

- Business: licensed restaurants

The restaurant is older than the company. A Hong Kong City restaurant was already trading at 43 New Cross Road in 2010 (Londonist, May 2010), in a building that was once a pub, the Crown and Anchor (Wikimedia Commons). The latest food hygiene inspection, on 12 February 2025, rated it 3, “generally satisfactory” (Food Standards Agency).
Is the restaurant still open?
The Gazette notices do not say. A liquidation ends the company, but it does not always close the business: a restaurant can be sold on, or carry on under a new owner. We could not confirm today whether New Hong Kong City is still trading, and we will update this story when we can.
